About the author

Luisa Marietta Gold spent much of her adult life in Pennsylvania working for a large corporation. After her daughter was born, she relocated to North Carolina and began working as a Realtor while operating a recreational business with her husband. Her current home is near a lake reminiscent of the Rideau Lakes, which provided the setting for The Osprey Cove Lodge Series. The series was born from her love of that region of Canada, the outdoors, and lake life. Many years were spent enjoying the Rideau, staying in lodges, and for a time, her own cottage. Among her interests are swimming, painting, cooking, baking, and of course, writing and storytelling. But it’s the simple things of life that bring the most enjoyment, like the beauty of the trees outside the window of her writing room as they change with the seasons, watching the sunrise and sunset, and being entertained by her kitties as they interact and play. Many of these interests and life experiences are woven into the pages of her books.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written romance book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great romantic movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2019The story was interesting and I was really getting into it. Then there was no more story. Maybe it was more normal to write books that were cliffhangers in 2016? But to have to wait till book (10 or 11?) for Alex and Catherine to get married is ridiculous. I really don't care what happens to the pathetically selfish Doug. How many books does it take till this story really ends? Some parts of the plot could have had an ending in book one, with other sub-plots, like Doug, continued. Mind you, I really don't care what happens to Doug. I just feel like I wasted time reading a bookthat neber really ends till the 12th book? Or were there more than 12 books? I wouldn't have minded buying books 2, 3 and even 4, as long as all parts of the story ended then. The abruptness of the first book ending with a cliffhanger, and no warning ahead of reading this book, really is aggravating. Sorry, but any good writing flies out the door when the story never seems to end. Would you go to 12 movies to see the ending of the first movie? I don't think so.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2024I really enjoyed everything about this book. I felt a connection with the main characters and can’t wait to read the next one!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2024Overall, a decent book but a little disappointing. The characters and scenery were well described and painted clear pictures as we read. However, the story has a lot of extra, unneeded fillers that wasn't needed. Also, a little disappointed that a few of the story lines did not find a resolution.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2024I really enjoyed this first book in the series, I love the heroine and all her issues and how she deals with them. It is an emotional story so far, it will be interesting to see how her personal life and her business life intersect. I don't want to give out spoilers or say too much. I love Catherine and hope she finds what she needs and gets some love and romance. I just ordered book #2, can't wait read it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2017This story is deliciously complicated. A family of three young adult children are orphaned when both parents die tragically in a car crash. They inherit the family mansion and business. The son was already groomed to take over from his dad, so the business was left in his care. One sister was completely disinterested. The other sister was determined to prove her skills in marketing. She succeeded by becoming the youngest director in a different company. Two years before she had interviewed a man for a position. They ended up marrying. He married her for her wealth. He booked a holiday to celebrate their second anniversary but asked her friend and her husband to join them. He liked her friend more than his wife. His wife was called back early from the holiday which infuriated her husband. She left anyway. He changed. He turned against her, buying a red Corvette while she made a business trip to Canada. She met a really nice man there. He liked her too but since he was widowed, with an eight-year old daughter, and she was married, neither acted on their mutual attraction. Things changed. What I especially appreciated in this book was the clean decent great story without the erotica, and lack of morals so prevalent in the average story, and the romantic storyline. If this is a first story, I congratulate Luisa Marietta Gold. Well done! I look forward to reading follow-ups and more stories. Thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Escape To Osprey Cove by Luisa Marietta Gold book 1
Escape to Osprey Cove by Luisa Marietta Gold
Catherine is a nice girl, infatuated by the story of how her grandfather Gregstone turning a broken down truck,a handmade tool belt and himself the only employee into a multi-million dollar construction business through hard work. Unfortunately she’d met Doug at a young age, felt sorry for his hard luck story of growing up with a single mum and nothing he ever wanted that the other kids had, no matter how hard his mum worked. Doug heard her story of money, her parents dying in an accident leaving more money and assets to three children and he set out to become part of that wealthy family, no matter that he didn’t love hardworking sweet Catherine. A creepier husband he couldn’t have been if he’d tried.
Escape to Osprey Cove is about a business deal about to go bad that Catherine worked on to turn it around, loving Osprey Cove where the client took her to explain his business. The water, boat, scenery and client’s ideals of getting young people away from computers and into the outdoors having fun and adventures matched her own sense of nature. Catherine hoped to make Alex’s dreams come true so that a generation would learn to leave their computer gear and create a healthy lifestyle of fitness in the outdoors as well. She enjoyed herself so much that it wasn’t hard for Catherine and client Alex to get along in work as they played on the water.
A great book that kept my interest as the story unfolds. I want to read the next book as well. I became so invested in the characters I liked that I truly want to learn more! Even when disliking Doug I thoroughly enjoyed this well written ebook. I bought it and the review is my own.

Almost could predict the outcome from early on in the story, but to confirm you need to thread the follow up book, for sure, but good book

Good but would have been better to be a standalone. Not a fan of cliff hangers.
