Older church members suspect her, and older women accuse her of indecent things, but Deputy Max and Harper are going to figure out who really killed the pastor and who’s really been sleeping with whom.
Harper’s snappy thoughts and comebacks made me laugh out loud. The more dangerous scenes had me worried about her. It’s a funny and exciting read.
As far as the Christian message goes, there is no preaching at the reader. But there is an important lesson to be learned about how we judge one another.
Toward the end, Harper notices Deputy Max’s handsome looks. He says something that I found out of place (maybe it was supposed to be said as a joke??). Other than that one line, I seriously had a blast reading this cozy mystery.
